Buceo Bayahibe - Scuba Diving
Explore Caribbean Underwater Paradise
Overview
Bayahibe sits on the Dominican Republic's southern coast and is widely considered the country's premier dive destination. The reef system here is healthy and vibrant, the water is warm year-round, and famous wrecks like the St. George sit in diveable depths. This full-day package includes two tank dives at different sites, all equipment, a PADI-certified instructor, and a seaside lunch between dives. First-timers can take the Discover Scuba route (no cert required), while experienced divers enjoy independent guided dives.
- Dive two distinct sites -- coral reef and shipwreck -- on the same day
- Encounter sea turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels, and walls of tropical fish
- Visibility regularly exceeds 20 metres in these sheltered southern waters
- PADI instructors in four languages keep groups small and personalised
- No certification needed for Discover Scuba intro dives

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a certification?
No. Our Discover Scuba programme teaches you the basics and takes you to a max depth of 12 metres. Certified divers can go deeper and explore independently with a guide.
How deep will we go?
Discover Scuba: up to 12 metres. Open Water certified: 18 metres. Advanced: up to 25 metres, conditions permitting.
What wildlife might we see?
Hawksbill turtles, spotted eagle rays, nurse sharks, moray eels, barracuda, lobster, octopus, and hundreds of reef-fish species are all common here.
Is it safe for first-timers?
Completely. Groups are capped at four to six divers per instructor. Training is thorough and the instructor remains with you for the entire dive.
Guest Reviews
Saw a hawksbill turtle on my very first dive. The instructor was calm and thorough, the wreck was atmospheric, and the reef was the healthiest I have seen in the Caribbean. Outstanding day.
Never dived before and now I am hooked. The Discover Scuba programme felt safe and the visibility was extraordinary. Already planning my certification course back home.
